Email
Formatting
The prime object is to get people to open your email, read it, and then join the opportunity you are promoting. Before we start on the content we are going to discuss how your email should be formatted. The first thing that we need to discuss is how and where we are going to write our ads. (What text editor to use) I generally use notepad to write my ads. I have an email template that consists of 50 asterisks. I use this to keep my line length well within any browser that may be used to read my ads. There are still people who use older browsers to read their ads. Some of these browsers do not have the word wrap facility and so if your line length is too long it breaks up and they see one of those ads with just one or two words on a line because of the position of the line break. This of course looks very unprofessional and will make the reader very wary of anything you have to say. Would you want to do business with someone who doesn't appear to know what they are doing? Another important consideration is the amount of 'white space' you use in your email. This is very important and although it may not apply quite so much to a short email, I can guarantee people will not read through a page of close written text, especially when they are reading it on a monitor. |
