| Advanced Marketing Techniques Web Page Building
Part 1 Basics |
|
Last week we looked at getting a domain name, and the hosting you will need to put your own website out on the web. This week we are going to be looking at building your website using a free tool that is available in your Vortex back office. That tool is a webpage builder called Nvu (N-view). You do NOT need any knowledge of website building or HTML (the language websites are built in). Create
Your Web Site
The
next step is to actually build your web site using Nvu. Your web site
can be basic or complicated and it all depends on what your goals are.
We recommend that you start off simple while you are learning how to
use Nvu. As your knowledge and skills increase you can start to build
more sophisticated web sites. Nvu makes it as easy to build your web
site as to use a word processing program. The more complicated your web
site, the more knowledge and understanding of HTML and the Web you will
need to have, but don't worry about that at the moment as you will find
that you pick things up as you go along.
We recommend the following guidelines when building your web site: •
Store all of your web pages and images in the same directory There are many great
tutorials on the Web that will explain some of the basics of creating
web pages. If you are serious about creating a web site we recommend
that you spend some time learning the "tricks of the trade" to get a
better understanding of how to create great sites.
