Meta Tags
Add Meta Tags to your website. I'm going to show you how to add meta content tags to your website for better ranking with the search engines. When you are designing your website, you need to think about the 'Keywords' that you are going to be using to try and attract traffic to your website. You can then add the information below as you design your site. The meta tags need to go immediately after the closing title tag. If you have a website and it is already setup then you will need to login to your cpanel with your user id and pass word. After you login you will see: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> The 3rd line is the opening <head> tag. This is where you need to add your meta tags. After the head tag. this is what it should look like: <head> <title>your title of your webpage</title> <meta name="description" content="your description here"> <meta name="keywords" content="key words here"> <meta name="rating" content="General"> <meta name="ROBOTS" content="ALL"> <meta name="Robots" content="index,follow"> <meta name="revisit-after" content="14 days"> <meta name="distribution" content="Global"> <meta name="author" content="your name here"> DESCRIPTION TAG: You put your description here. Make sure you use as many keywords as you can that are about your blog content. (The maximum number of characters we recommend for this tag is 200.) KEYWORDS TAG: Use keywords and keyphrases that are related to your Title, Description and your Website. (The maximum number of keywords we recommend for this tag is 20.) You can copy and paste in notepad remove the words in I put in the DESCRIPTION, KEYWORDS and AUTHOR tags.
