Techniques Traffic Exchanges
|
| In
this short series we are going to be looking at traffic exchanges and
how they have developed into what we know and use. Traffic
exchanges are a tremendous help in improving your search engine
ranking, so we will be looking at the exchanges with this in mind. This is the first in a series of three sessions and today we are looking at an introduction to traffic exchanges, their anatomy, their history, some tips on using them and why we need to build a specific type of page for the exchanges. So let's start with an Introduction to traffic exchanges. Recap In this session we have introduced you to the traffic exchange and the basic theory that makes it work. We went on to look at the history of the traffic exchange and its development over a period of time from the first ad type exchanges to the exchanges that you see today on the internet.. We looked at some of the common features of the traffic exchange including time limits, anti-cheat mechanisms and referrals We followed this with some tips on using the exchanges and went on to look at the type of page you need to build to put on an exchange. The discussion turned to personalizing your site for maximum benefit and not having unrealistic expectations. Your site is not going to take off overnight, but with a little perseverance and patience you will soon see the results as you start to climb up the rankings in the search engines. Finally we looked at being consistent in all that you do with regard to the exchanges. Rome wasn't built in a day and you cannot expect your site to go to number one just because you put it in a traffic exchange today. Keep in mind if you do nothing then nothing will happen. We will carry on with this series of tutorials next week. |
